Het EFSA Panel on Plant Health heeft kwantitatieve beoordelingen opgesteld voor de kans op introductie (binnenkomst en vestiging) van:

de Afrikaanse fruitmot Thaumatotibia leucotreta via de import van snijrozen
de mot Citripestis sagittiferella via de import van citrusvruchten
de mot Elasmopalpus lignosellus via de import van asperges

Evaluatie door BuRO

BuRO heeft het volgende geëvalueerd:

de gebruikte modellen
de onderbouwing van de parameterschattingen in deze modellen
de uiteindelijke output

Conclusie van BuRO

BuRO concludeert het volgende:

Sommige modellen geven geen goede schatting van de kans op introductie.
Sommige parameterschattingen zijn onvoldoende onderbouwd.
De kans op introductie van Thaumatotibia leucotreta via de import van snijrozen en van Citripestis sagittiferella via de import van citrusvruchten wordt waarschijnlijk aanzienlijk overschat.

The Panel on Plant Health of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has assessed the probability of introduction of 3 different pest species into the European Union through the import of specific products. These 3 assessments were evaluated by Bureau Risicobeoordeling & onderzoek (BuRO). This report contains the evaluation.

Three quantitative assessments

The Panel on Plant Health prepared 3 quantitative assessments concerning the probability of introduction (entry and establishment) of:

the false codling moth Thaumatotibia leucotreta through the import of cut roses
the moth Citripestis sagittiferella through the import of citrus fruits
the moth Elasmopalpus lignosellus through the import of asparagus spears

Evaluation by BuRO

BuRO evaluated the following:

the models used
the substantiation of parameter estimates in these models
the final output

Conclusion by BuRO

BuRO concludes the following:

Some of the models do not provide a good estimate of the probability of introduction.
Some parameter estimates were insufficiently substantiated.
The probability of introduction of Thaumatotibia leucotreta through the import of cut roses and of Citripestis sagittiferella through the import of citrus fruit is probably considerably overestimated.
