Deadline extended for open call for tenders on ‘More Welfare: towards New Risk Assessment Methodologies and Harmonised Animal Welfare Data in the EU’

EFSA has extended the deadline for the open call for tenders for the project ‘More Welfare: towards New Risk Assessment Methodologies and Harmonised Animal Welfare Data in the EU’ (OC/EFSA/ED/2022/02)/ The new deadline for submission of offers is September 23^rd, 2022. The budget is €500.000

The aim of this procurement is to develop a roadmap for action that will characterise the current state of play on animal welfare risk assessment and identify what needs to be done to achieve EFSA’s vision.

Webinar on post-TR confidentiality GMO Part C Risk Assessment and Confidentiality workflows

This webinar will look at the changes implemented by EFSA to its GMO assessment workflow following the applicability of the Transparency Regulation and the amended Directive 2001/18/EC Part C.

Webinar on notification of studies

This webinar will focus on how the new requirements affect the procedure for the Notification of Studies, as well as on sharing information and enhancing dialogue with stakeholders. EFSA will present the new features of the system and, in particular, explain how to create a pre-application ID and the list of intended studies.

Hybrid Workshop on Data Sharing and Standardisation - Pollinator related data

Brussels and online, December 1^st, 14:00 - 18:00 (CET). 2022

The Dutch EFSA Focal point is looking for 2 - 3 experts on bees and/or pollinator relevant data to participate in a workshop organised by EFSA and BeeLife. 

EFSA is looking for participants with the following profiles:

• representatives from authorities dealing with national relevant statistics (pollinator populations, land use, pesticide/biocide/veterinary medicine use, etc.)
• representatives from networks of scales used to follow honey flow and honey bee health
• national suppliers of pollinator monitoring hardware or software

The aim of the event is to introduce the EU Pollinator Hub, and explore with the participants how to collaborate and benefit from it. The platform is a new milestone in the efforts to improve the sharing of harmonised and standardised data on pollinators. It builds on existing features of the EU Bee Partnership (EUBP) Prototype Platform, to centralise information related to pollinators and to further develop its features and content. The new platform, financed by EFSA, will be fully operational by 2024.
