Call for tender: One Health - Living Risk Assessment Tool

Deadline: September 28th, 2022

A call for tenders was launched to develop an online, living risk assessment tool, to assess the risk for zoonotic and animal diseases using a holistic, one-health approach, in which the risk assessments are updated automatically.

The maximum budget for the framework contract (One year + automatic renewal up to 3 times for an overall maximum duration of four consecutive years) is €780.000. Please, submit your offer by 28 September 2022.

10th BfR-Summer Academy 2022

Online, September 5th - 16th, 2022

The 10th BfR-Summer Academy 2022 is a professional expert training course on risk assessment and risk communication in the area of food safety.

The 10th BfR-Summer Academy 2022 will be conducted by highly qualified and experienced BfR-scientists as well as external experts with profound and long standing experience in the assessment and communication of chemical or microbial risks. The course is intended for members of staff of public organisations engaged in food and feed safety, who already have experience in risk assessment analysis. The participants will gain deeper understanding in risk assessment analysis and in risk communication measures. Consequently this BfR-Summer Academy is from professionals to professionals.

The 10th BfR-Summer Academy 2022 will be held online. The participation is free of charge. More information can be found here.

CONSULTATIES

Bees and pesticides: draft guidance update for public consultation

Deadline: October 3rd, 2022

EFSA has launched a public consultation on its draft guidance document on the risk assessment of plant protection products and bees, covering honey bees, bumble bees and solitary bees.

EFSA is responding to a request from the European Commission to review the guidance document, first published in 2013, considering new scientific knowledge that has emerged in the meantime.
Comments are particularly invited on the novel approaches included in the draft guidance, which regards the risk assessment and the statistical analysis of field studies. The deadline to submit comments is the 3rd of October 2022.

Launch of the 3rd edition of the ‘Stop African swine fever’ campaign

July 20th, 2022

On the 20th of July 2022, EFSA launched the third edition of the ‘Stop African swine fever’ campaign. It is run in partnership with local authorities in eighteen countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo*, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.

The campaign will address farmers, veterinarians, and hunters. With the assistance of local farmers’ groups, veterinary organisations, hunting associations, and other relevant bodies, it aims to raise awareness about how to prevent the spread of this disease.
