ECDC Call for tender - ECDC Public Relations Plan and Activities

Deadline: July 15th, 2022

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) recently published a call for tender for public relations activities. The scope of this call is to implement the requirements identified in the ECDC strategy 2021-2027 with regards to stakeholders and external communication including the development and implementation of a public relations plan.

You can consult the ECDC website for more information. The period for receipt of tenders closes on Friday, 15 July 2022.

Call for Tender "Monitoring and Surveillance Data for Future Chemical Risk Assessment Needs in EFSA: Exploring New Opportunities"

Deadline: September 5th, 2022

EFSA has recently published the call “Monitoring and Surveillance Data for Future Chemical Risk Assessment Needs in EFSA: Exploring New Opportunities” which is now available on the TED e-Tendering website.

The project aims to:

  • identify and prioritise EFSA’s data needs for advancing human health risk assessment, animal health risk assessment and environmental risk assessment of chemicals
  • identify, and map relevant data sources
  • provide recommendations for data access and generation

The maximum budget for direct contract during the 24 months is €250.000.

The deadline for receipt of offers is on 5 September 2022 at 14:30 UTC+02:00.

Call for tenders – “Development of Roadmaps for Action on Applying Omics and Bioinformatics Approaches: Towards Next Generation Risk Assessment”

Deadline: September 15th, 2022 - 14:30 (CEST)

EFSA has relaunched an open call for tenders (OC/EFSA/ED/2022/03) for the development of a roadmap for action on Applying Omics and Bioinformatics Approaches: Towards Next Generation Risk Assessment.

The aim of this procurement is to obtain a roadmap for action to define EFSA priorities for the wide integration of omics and associated bioinformatics approaches in food regulatory science (by 2030) to support the transition into next generation risk assessment.

The roadmap for action shall provide a full understanding on e.g. ongoing activities, knowledge gaps, challenges and blockers as well as collaboration opportunities and potential partners. The roadmap shall provide for EFSA a basis for prioritisation and decision making for high-value and multi-annual studies or project calls (grants or procurements, in collaboration with its partners) to address the identified gaps.

The maximum budget for this tender is €500.000. More information can be found on the designated TED website and for questions please contact EFSAprocurement@efsa.europa.eu.

Call for proposals – “NAMS4NANO: Integration of New Approach Methodologies results in chemical risk assessments: Case studies addressing nanoscale considerations”

Deadline: September 20th, 2022 - 23: 59 (CEST)

EFSA has published a call for proposals (grant) (GP/EFSA/MESE/2022/01) on NAMS4NANO: Integration of New Approach Methodologies results in chemical risk assessments: Case studies addressing nanoscale considerations.

This is a multiannual project composed of several Calls for proposals aiming at identifying organisations supporting EFSA in the implementation of the data integration activities described in the EFSA Roadmap for NAMs and prioritised in this Call. This includes:

  1. specific activities linked to nanotechnology and nano-safety assessments, focusing on the use of NAMs for assessing nanomaterials and other materials requiring the assessment at nano-scale;
  2. proposals for data integration, which go beyond the nanotechnology area, covering all chemical risk assessment areas under the EFSA remit.

The call for proposals is divided in the following three lots:

  1. Review of tools and developing a ‘Qualification System for NAMs’
  2. Risk assessment case studies
  3. Methodological and generic case studies

The maximum budget for the grants are €5.3 M (€300.000 for lot 1, € 5.0 M for lots 2&3). More information can be found here. For questions please contact EFSAprocurement@efsa.europa.eu.

Open call – “ADME4NGRA: Implementing the EFSA NAMs Roadmap through Advancing Toxicokinetic Knowledge in Chemical Risk Assessment”

Deadline: September 15th, 2022 – 14:30 (CEST)

EFSA has published an open call (procurement) (OC/EFSA/MESE/2022/04) on ADME4NGRA: Implementing the EFSA NAMs Roadmap through Advancing Toxicokinetic Knowledge in Chemical Risk Assessment.

The aim of this procurement is to execute a project to support the development of advanced in vitro and in silico ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion) models and databases for next generation risk assessment (NGRA) of chemicals using illustrative case studies.

The maximum budget for the grants are €3.0 M. More information can be found here. For questions please contact EFSAprocurement@efsa.europa.eu.
